The Dangers of Internet for Children

That is really nice but now what should we teach them?
What are the dangers? How to recognize them?
Are we too alarmist? Why not just cut the internet?

I'll try to put it all as clear as possible, using language "popularized" and not a computer jargon (do)

There are two categories of risk:
-The dangers for children.
-Dangers to the computer (viruses and Company)

Let's start with the most important ... Kids! (If so, I assure you, this is not the computer the most important ... .. if you hesitate you may be cyberaddict;)).

Children are "innocent" They do not see the dangers, whether the street or the internet. We must therefore educate and even give them rules to follow. For them, the dangers are all over the internet, but especially cats. Direct dialogues, emails, instant messaging, file sharing, online purchase. They are best known, but beware, not alone. Increasingly, a wave of popularity invades the internet blogs! What's this? A fuck a blog is a personal journal or travel diary available on the web .. Today, it became a website where children put their photos, photos of friends, relatives, pets and more. I saw a blog of a girl aged 12, who named the site "petitesexy" in writing his full name and address and same phone number! Innocent for them .. only their friends (es) have the address of their site they think. Well no ... everything on the internet is accessible to all!

"Almost half of young Canadians are alone when they go online.
According to these youths, their parents never sit next to them when they are online (68%), use no filter to block inappropriate sites (65%) and never check the sites visited (54% ).

Let's close the dangers
The rules for safe navigation:
-Never put your address or phone number.
Rule 1: Always ask permission before his parents divulge my name, address, phone number, credit cards and photos.

-Never put her full name! Nicks exist.
Rule 2: Maintain anonymity, always using a pseudonym, nickname, nick.

-Learn to correctly use different cats (chronic future)
Rule 3: To lead a respectable online. No insults, rude message, no threats and did not blame others. In Writing! Do not use the web to progager rumors or threats.

-Do not accept strangers on the lists of messaging (MSN, ICQ, and other Yahou)
Rule 4: The Courier is for friends (s) only. Never accept an appointment without talking to adults. If you still decide to go, it's in a public place and accompanied!.

-Learn to read, which means, do not click anywhere without knowing what we click.
Rule 5: I do not buy online without permission! There are sites which are traps for the information and use.

The dangers, it's obviously the personal information that allows a malicious individual to find the child physically. As we know, no need to say, sexual predators are increasing on internet. They often communicate with the child, establish a bond of friendship, making himself even pass for a child of their age, or a great friend attentive to extract personal information or direct them go. We must therefore explain to our children, the dangers that exist and aware of the caution. Teach them never to divulge personal information without your consent, the importance of having a nickname and good will "lead". Children must learn how to react when things "spoil". Do not respond and tell an adult immediately. meet only in the presence of an adult in a public place.
